I’ve tried searching but can’t find a clear answer on this one. We’re staying at Tetra Rouge this year (not the TL site but the public one on the outside of the track), and I wanted to know what the situation is with electric hook up. I understand that officially there isn’t any, but unofficially there is? What sort of plug is needed to tap in to it, we have the standard blue three pin one that you use on the official electric hook up at Houx for example?

Also does anyone know what happens with pitch allocation, do you just pick your own? Are the pitches the standard 7m x5m?

Many thanks!

There is electric, but not much of it, takes long leads and expect much daisy chaining.

Pick your own pitch, size 7x5, but measured out with a gallic shrug, so some are bigger than others

If you scroll through these posts you'll get a flavour of the electricity supply - there are two of these columns on the Tertre Rouge site and I would guess that around half the campsite taps in to the supply in one form or another.

I've a photo like that somewhere. I can smell the burning from here laugh

On a couple of occasions they've had problems and the substation trip switch has gone, but it all seems to work. They really should put proper mains points in the campsites

Thanks for the reply’s. So the standard three pin plug used on any campsite will be fine, I just need as much cable as possible and maybe a gizmo for turning x1 socket into x2?

And don’t worry, if it all stops working in the pouring rain a very drunk Frenchman will jab a screwdriver into various live electric bits and somehow not die.
It shouldn’t work, but does. So far.

Do the new hookups have standard camping connectors?

Yes, the showers don’t have hot water though

Is the shower block at the far end near the stage open. I think that now replaces the one that has gone. Or that is what the marshalls in TR said last year.
