Campsite exits closed - 15:30 to 17:00

Signs going up/TXT messages for some saying exit from the (certainly Vert) campsites will be closed from 15:30 till 17:00 so anyone that needs to make a quick getaway...

Exit of main Prairie site is a mud bath.

It was the same last year, Police / ACO like to get everyone away from the circuit using a one way system, when we left the TL site last year they were forcing everyone to turn right towards the bottom of the circuit past karting and beausejour. Bit of an issue if you are planning to get a early ferry back to blighty!

What time did you get out of Houx and on your way?

Took me till 18:55 to reach the 1st chicane roundabout getting out of Hippodrome!

Took me until 18.15 to get from Houx Annexe to the 1st chicane on the Mulsanne. Made it to Dieppe at 22.05 even without using the peage.

The bit I don’t get is the excuse of adverse weather. They did it last year so I booked the ferry accordingly but why they can’t just say traffic can’t leave until 5 in advance I have no idea.

Don't know, we had the barbecue on by then! A couple of rain showers and then a lovely evening.

I moved the car to KFC in the morning from Hippodrome, left about 5 and got straight onto Mulsanne straight.

How'd you manage that? Everything looked closed up and fenced off there whenever I passed during the week (though was driving so more focused on the upcoming fence slalom.
