Houx Annexe Access - is track ticket checked or not?
Discussion
Hi all
I'm stopping on Houx Annexe this year following the closing of Tertre Rouge campsite
A friend who is currently in mainland Europe is stopping off with us at Le Mans on the way back home but is leaving Saturday before the race.
I've managed to get him a 2 day Wednesday & Thursday pass as we don't plan to go in the circuit on Friday but have just saw that he may need a valid entry ticket to go in and out of Houx Annexe campsite on the Friday. Years ago Houx Annexe was outside the security fence but I'd really appreciate if someone who stayed on Houx Annexe last year could answer the following:
Do they scan track entrance tickets in and out of Houx Annexe or just look at the ticket or can you walk in any of the gates i.e. is there a pedestrian gate by the main pedestrian track entrance near the tram that isn't manned that get's you outside campsite but not inside the secure circuit?
Thanks
Paul

With the standard ACO disclaimer that past ACO rules are no guide to the ACO not doing something completely bats
t this year/just because the rule says X doesn't mean temporary staff member Y has either read or understood them:
There's no direct track access from Houx Annex, you either need to go around to the East (stadium/tram) gate, up the road between Houx/Houx Annex and through the entrance up there, or through Houx campsite you shouldn't need a GA ticket to access Houx Annex campsite.
Of course if you're not leaving the cmapsite Friday it's not an issue and if you are just get hammered, come back late and drunk and babble something incohearent about your ticket being in your tent/lost at the Drivers Parade/"Dans la arbre signe saute marteau" (or other nonsense French that will offend their ears so they just wave you through).

Yep the demise of TR will make life harder for you, long walk to see anything. Houx itself is within the GE area but still a lenghty walk to see anything. Apperas many of the TR regulars managed to get Houx but not all
OK, further than TR to the track but not really THAT far. From the entrance to Houx Annex:- 0.75km to the 'inside' end of Dunlop bridge.
- 0.95km to the middle of the €800 t-shirt Village.

Hi GT6We failed to get TR last year after about 15 years due to last minute hiccup with agent and ended up on Houx. Luckily we were opposite the centre toilet block where the pedestrian entrance to track is so not a bad position.
Failed to get Houx this year after I threatened an agent (who I won't bother naming) with court action after seeing their scandalous prices after paying a very large deposit early on.
Luckily I was able to go back to the very nice company Just Tickets who used to be able to get us Tertre Rouge before allocations were cut back and at the last minute they were able to secure Houx Annexe for me, very close to vehicle entrance so will be a very similar distance as last year if we enter track at the gate at the end of the lane between Houx and Houx Annexe but no electricity for 1st time since we were last on Houx Annexe in 2010
