I have been watching with interest the grids and the cars entered. Having seen more and more cars that could compete being tested and rolled out at other events, do we think the cars entered in each grid is now complete.

The grid I was most looking forward to is the 1990s, but there are very few late GT1s such as the long nose McLaren's, Porsche GT1, flying Mercs, Nissan or Toyotas.

Grid 7 only has 17 cars entered.

Are they going to keep filling, or do we think this is it?

It would not surprise me at all if they aren't updating the public entry lists this close to the event, and that there'll be a load of stuff included that isn't on there currently.

My impression of the event is that Peter Auto have done a crap job promoting it, both to visitors and presumably to drivers/entrants too. Several friends who are regular Le Mans and classic car event attendees had no idea on this new Legends format.

Meanwhile I understand that several of the large campsites are being condensed due to lack of demand and that ticket sales have been very poor.

That said, if I owned a 90s or early 2000s race car and suddenly had an opportunity to race it at Le Mans, you bet your ass I'd be there.

We arrive Thursday afternoon and it's usually getting quite busy in BSJ by then. It will be interesting to see if we are able to snag better spots this year (looking for shade if the forecast stays they same) with these talked about lower numbers.

I don't recall the exact amounts, but I know there were some severely expensive costs incurring from bringing a non road legal race car across to Europe from the UK following Brexit.

I do wonder if this is the reason so few British entries exist. A lot of the Jaguar XJR's are in British ownership and of course many of the McLaren F1 road cars were converted back to road spec..

Lower numbers is no issue for me, it might be a pleasant surprise.

It's my first Classic and I'm looking forward to it. The 90's cars are the biggest draw for me but it'll be great to see it all.

And I've just been told the hot-start issue on my TVR is sorted which is handy looking at the weather forecast!

Ha, going through the exact same thing with my Chimaera, not ideal a week or so before a drive through France .
