Not sure if this is anyone on here, but I was browsing the latest EVO (the latest to hit Australian shores at least) and found a letter about LM 2005. A certain Mr Knight was talking about the joy of driving down and a certain lucky gent with a 3 day old Ford GT living in a campsite! Sounds familiar!! :D

Yep Ben

You guessed right!
I just whipped up a few words and pics on an e-mail to Evo at lunchbreak , and a month or two later it ended up in the letters Page!

ealier thread: www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?t=211323&f=25&h=0

Hopefully LM 2006 will be just as good!

(didn't get to speak to the GT Ford owner though, shame)

I was wondering whether this was the VMAX Ford GT mentioned in the EVO letter, as there was another GT at Le Mans this year belonging to the guy who owns Pendragon. Thanks for clearing this up.

Yep definitely JT's car! That was one of the craziest things of the whole week last year. Driving along Arnage on Friday morning in the Micra, saw Ford GT approaching and we were both flashing the lights and waving like loons at each other!! Passers by must have thought it was crazy!

Yep, it was parked a few tent rows away from our camp, and was next to an Orange Lambo with 'vmax' decals.

I briefly spoke to one of the guys in their camp who was dutch ( I think )who told me about the owner only getting it about 3 days before the trip !
I only saw it drive into the campsite, never on the road ,unfortunately !

Yep definitely the VMAX Crew from PH! I was just round the corner as well, staying a bit closer to the circuit in Houx!

Ah, Got the 1st letter right, he must have been a Danish Guy.
He was the only one out of the group sitting by the tent, who came up for a friendly chat while I was taking a few snaps.

Maybe the other Guys got fed up of answering the same questions!

yep,was probably having a beer elsewere when they were on the move !

Cheeky Fecker, we had a lovely time hooning around france though with the 360 and Tracks NSX - nice leisurely lunch somewhere, might have been Germany, meet up with a couple of characters and embarresed the hell out of a group of guys in Elises on the way up the side of a mountain, possibly Switzerland at that point
