Ok so we're planning an early Thurs AM Dover crossing and an early afternoon Mon Calis return.

Anybody else traveling same days - if so what times?

Am beginning to think we may have dropped a clanger here. We are travelling same Thurs/Mon as yourself but on a lunchtime on both days. Everyone else will be there already!! What's the latest people have set off from Blighty to get to Le Mans?

Im going on these days Dover/Calis, on the 8.40ish Ferry I think, in an Elise with my brothers in an MX5. I thing quite a few people will be on this ferry.

Nah I'm booked on the 10am Thursday crossing, back on the Monday 1pm. Still plenty of cars to see on the route. If anything, it is slightly quieter on the way down, but definitely not on the way back!

We are doing the same, only because it's an effin long way from Manchester to get to Dover any earlier !!

It depends where you're camping - if you're on Houx and have a numbered pitch it's OK, if you're joining a group and they've managed to save you space then it's OK. If you're turning up and trying to find space on some of the busier sites you might fit it a bit tricker if you're too late on the Thursday evening (don't forget to take the time change into account).

We are going down for an 8ish crossing. Previous years we have left even later - TBH don't care where I end up camping - as long as I sink enough beer!

If I was going down on Wednesday like some of the others on here - I would be selling a marking out pitch service.............

We're on the 0840 P&O crossing on Thursday Morning. Currently an S1 Elise and a 996 Turbo. Possibly another Elise if my current passenger can get permission to spend.

Last year went down Friday morning. There was plenty on the road down, and didn't really feel we'd missed out on much when we got there. Were a long way back in the Beausejour campsite though!!!!

Have left friday afternoon and got a pitch at about 9/10pm before no problem and was great on the way down Ferrari Daytona's and TVR's etc. loads of scenery. Getting there on friday shouldn't cause you any problems you just can't spread out as much.
People are pretty obliging (IME) in moving a cars or whatever if it gets too tight.

We're on the 8.40 on Thursday, back on the 16:55 on Monday.

This year we're taking the cerb, the lotus Elan Turbo and er.... a Cupra.

I understand the yellow afros will be back making an appearance so there's a chance you may spot us!

Five of our lot are taking the 07:00 SpeedFerries crossing, then 17 of us are on the 20:15 Monday night crossing.

We're on the 10am ferry on Thurs & return Monday for the 20.00. Coming from London is easier on any 'early bird' wake up times!

Also with camp Houx, no worries on finding a camp spot....
