Hardly an experience! It may be free but I'd feel like a right fraggle, knowing you're purely driving the van cos no one else can be bothered to trundle down with their friends gear or load their pride and joy up with camping gear!
(Those Mercedes Sprinters are very quick though!!)

Ok ok, wish I'd thought of such a cunning plan!!

I particulaly liked this "Please bring all your own catering and camping equipment as all of ours is spoken for. If you come in on the daily whips, you would be more than welcome to share breakfast with us each day." and "Friday night we go out to dinner, one of you will be the nominated driver and will have their food paid for" so just the one then ... what the hardly the LM spirit!!

Demand for tickets gets so frantic near June I wouldn't be surprised if someone actually took them up on this.

If you're out there - you've gone off too early - try this in May!!!

Anyway, if you can't carry enough camping gear in a small bag to do for three or four days, you should probably have booked a hotel mate...

Q: I take it this is a hilarious jape, right? I mean, as I understand it, I pay to drive your van down to LM, then ferry you around town just so you lazy lot can drink? You guys are a scream, you crack me up!

Ok own up, who sent them this??

Me of course!!

I put it on Club Arnage forum too, just to see what the reaction on there was like. If you think the comments here are less than favourable, then I suggest you don't even bother looking at Club Arnage. The good folk on there can be somewhat ascerbic and are perhaps a bit less reserved in speaking their minds:-

I think some of you are being a bit keen to knock this offer. Although some parts of it are shite. Why would i want to have a meal with a bunch of random men when i could be with my friends watching the display on the Houx roudabout?

It depends on your situation really. For me it would have many advantages. I'm at university in Spain for a year and sold my car before i came out. I get back to UK a week before Le Mans, leaving me no time to look around for a replacement car. If you were to pick up the ''package'' for a nominal charge, it would save alot of money (ferry, petrol, entry camping) I would just want to get there give them their camping stuff and say goodbye until monday though!!!!

I can see what they're trying and its not that silly.

Should there be someone who is absolutely, really strapped for cash and is desperate to go to Le Mans, it provides a way.

However, I'm not so sure about giving a van and all your stuff to someone you met on the internet.
