Hi there, just wondered if anybody had a good idea of where all the action is over the race weekend? Where should I be on Friday / Saturday night? This is my first trip to Le Mans and I want to make it a memorable one.

Friday night in Le Mans centre is a must.
The buses leave late afternoon for the parade outside the main enterance.
Few beers, watch the parade, a bite to eat and then of to the bars.
Start at the cathederal area and eventually stagger into the square.
The downside is trying to get home, however, flag down the locals,
grab a taxi if poss or do what we did last year and just got on a bus
and he took us back to the circuit as it was on his way home.
top time.

Stuff about a pissup in LM centre
Those in the know go to Houx Roundabout on Friday night.

No, Houx Roundabout (come on, we can have them hunting for a roundabout at Houx for ages)
Friday AM - Pit lane walk (worth doing the first time.
Friday PM - Town Centre if you can face getting back with the trade off of actually cold beer and good food.
Saturday AM - Sleep as late as you can (not very in most tents).
Saturday PM - Head to the track at
Start straight (no grandstand seat) = 2PM
Rest of track (no grandstand seat) = 3PM
Grandstand seat = 4PM
5PM = start
(5:01PM wish you hadn't left your ear plugs in the tent)
Saturday Eve. - Sleep as soon as it gets cool enough.
Sunday 2AM - Get up, walk to main gate, across road and get free coach from car park.
Sunday 3AM - Arnage/Indianapolis corners
Sunday 5AM - Mulsanne corner
Sunday 7AM - Coffee and a Gran Marnier crep in the village (breakfast of champions).
Sunday day - get lost/confused/drunk.
Sunday PM - Head back to track (times as before).
You can try to get to the Mulsanne straight, but they make it quite clear they don't want you to - some people find it easy, some get cut, brused and caught before they see the track every year.

Bomber - I'm with you on this : I'll be at the Houx roundabout on Friday evening (what time ?).. as I'm really bored with the town centre now that it's been ruined by Politoically correct frenchmen.
No burnouts on the parade
boring drivers parade last year
fountains gone
