Just wondering, the only time i went i missed the sun coming up, i heard it's something i have to see. Which corners would be best? Same goes for the sunset...

Best place to be when...

... the sun set - paddling pool, beer in hand.

... the sun comes up - Mulsanne corner, but only get there shortly before sunrise as it's a bit of a pants viewing spot other than that IMHO, which leads me on to...

... it's still dark - Arnage corner. Umm, glowing disks at night.

Dunlop has always been the spot for sun up for us, but as the track has been moved the effect of the sun through the bridge may not be the same - we'll have to wait and see I guess.

We did the Ford Chicane at sun down a couple of years ago and that was quite nice - there's not much special about it but for some reason it worked!

Arnage/Mulsanne etc are nice but from MB they are a bit of a trek and we're usually too pi&&ed to work the buses out by that time!!

As the sun sets, grab a beer and head for the Esses. Watch from the far bank on the right hand side of the track above the gravel trap.

Once it's dark there is only one place, Tertre Rouge. Stand at the end of the straight into the corner before the Mulsanne straight and wait for the cars as they come gunning out of the woods, flames spitting and brake discs aglow.

Simply awesome.

At 3or 4 in the morning if you're feeling brave walk through the back of Houx Annex camp site towards the Mulsanne straight. You'll come across empty farm buildings and security caravans. Sneak past these and a number of tied up dogs guarding local property and you come out just before the chicane on the straight cars pass you at 200+mph at no more than 10ft away. Stay as long as you dare or until the Gendarmes tell you to clear off.

Enjoy.

Sounds like a plan.

Alright mate. My only mistake was wearing shorts as I trampled through the undergrowth enroute to the Mulsanne. Fortunately we were too pissed to realise our legs were being ripped to shreads by thorn bushes and nettles. Worth every scratch mind.

Sundown has to be at the funfair.

Tetre Rouge with a bottle of Vodka in hand to see sunrise.
