1980 911 - hendrix in the cassette player (remember those?). Never breaks down, kind of boring really (OK, apart from having to be towed off the ferry at Dieppe when the immobiliser would not disengage - french AA man turned up with a can of damp-start...aarrgghh..cut my wiring loom apart with a camping knife - never break down in France in a serious way)...

1970s?? That's yesterday...!

In 2004 I went in my 1954 Riley and that was the newest car in our group by over 25 years.

OK, so we took the back road route from Le Havre down, didn't rush and stopped for a good lunch but it was still quite embarrasing to only overtake the 1920's Bentley that had been on the same ferry on the N138 half way between Rouen and Le Mans!

We will be going in our trusty '89 orange twin wheel transit. Leaving at 6.25am!From Dover to Calais. Look out for the PH stickers and the "Window Lickers On Tour" stickers.
We have made te trip to LM four times in it and it never misses a beat. Not TVR power but a great way to get there. Pre stocked beer fridge with the genny running at fuel/toilet stops to boost the chill.
Oh, by the way it's my first post here and hope to catch up with you all at the Stella bar/Tetre Rouge on Thursday night.
ps. Anyone with a spare Houx Annexe ticket please call me on 07966 395140. No ebay prices please!!
Cheers, FE

1986 Mini Mayfair, with 1275 Metro engine. Thats if it ever gets finished and with 30 days to the ferry out, i've got everything crossed!
If (when) we get there look out for a loud blue mini with black viper stripes, or Gulf livery, depending on time constraints.
Reallly really hope its ready, otherwise i'll be on the cruddy coach!
wish me luck.

I'll be taking my 1978 Corvette (Official Pace Car) on it's second journey to Le Sarthe. Just getting belts changed at the moment and a new start motor fitted. Hopefully this year we'll be able to fill up with the engine turned off - which will be nice!
