In the past when camping at Le Mans with one car and one tent I’ve always been worried that if I take the car out during the day I will come back and not be able to park my car anywhere near my tent – if at all. Anyone have any ideas on how to get around this problem?

Yes barrier tape and spikes to rope off your section. However, we did this last year and still got back on the friday to find some charming people camped right in the middle of our space!! I wouldn't have minded if we had half the campsite roped off but we didn't!!

I'm thinking big scary dogs for this year!!

Put your chairs and things where your car would go.

Trouble is if we're out all day I don't fancy leaving all the stuff lying around - we tend to put things out of sight.

We're contemplating taking a couple of small pop up tents to fill in the gap this year! The tape failed to put last years couple off - I think perhaps me practically reversing my car over the front of their tent at 1am might have worried them slightly though!!

ok i have a fool proof way of making sure no one wants to stay near your area.

and it involves very little effort, thats the beauty of it all.

play your music REAL loud, bring some loud friends (or tell us where your camping) clean up every empty bottle and beer can you can find and dump it near your space, this will make others think there is a load of party animals there.

occasionally scream, E N G E R L A N D !!! whilst running around/falling over drunk.

actually ill just be myself, anyone nicks my space after all that and ill be taking a dump in their tent in the early hours,

My car leaks so much oil you won't want to camp where it's been.

that was my plan too ... 1 night parked outside my tent and i should have an oil slick to make the Exxon Valdees envious!!!

Seriously though ... have been wondering this too ... any other "single car campers" going to be in Bassejour want to form a "corral" ?? I will be arriving at about 9:30 ish on Thursday - 1 car + 2 tents
