As the 2 of us are staying at the travelodge at Ashford on tues night, and to set the mood for a superb motorsports week, we have booked an 'arrive and drive' kart session at Buckmore Park early evening on tuesday 13th. It's just down the road from Ashford, so if anyone else is staying over, and wants to join us, your welcome. It has to be early eve because they have another event later, so its 7.15 - 7.45, but registration is 6.15, and its in the 390 pro karts. www.buckmore.co.uk/content.php/000

We are also booked on a weds morning tunnel crossing 9:06, which is why we have arranged overnight at Ashford Travelodge, and will probably do dinner at Pizza Hut or Frankie & Bennies which is on site. Will then wake up fresh for the drive down to Le Mans, apart from the aching forearms.

Sounds like a good idea. I used to race at Buckmore park. A lovely track.

I might be in the area then on my way down so could join in. I have some colleagues working inn Sheerness who may also come along.

I could do teh Travellodge as well possibly and aim for an early Wednesday crossing as I haven't booked it eyt.

OK gefopsman, see you there if you get booked, let us know if you 'firm things up' with either Buckmore or Travelodge.

I'll be in a Porsche 911 with my 20 year old son, and we have been going to Le Mans since he was 8, but in the karts I can't seem to go as fast as him these days.

Oh no, just realised, L100NYY will be feeling even more sick now !

We'll keep a space for the pair of you at the bar then! There's 10 of us booked into 4 rooms at the 'lodge for Tuesday night. You'll easily spot us, there's a 1978 Corvette, S2000 (with stripes), a pair of A4's and a Mini Cooper S.

By the time you get back we should have settled into a nice corner in view of the cars so join us for a beer!

We're not due at the 'lodge until about 8pm so can't make the karting I'm afraid. Enjoy it though!

Is there a bar in the travelodge? or do you mean on the Ashford site somewhere? We plan to eat at Pizza Hut or Frankie and Bennies after karting, but will look forward to joining you all for a beer after. Cheers.
