I'm going to Le-Mans for the first time this year & was wondering
where the best place is for a bit of action on Friday night?

Just looking for a good laugh with nutters in fast cars doing burnouts
etc!! Any advice from the Le Mans veterans!!

Try "The Roundabout" near Houx Annex if you dare!

I've been going years now and without doubt it has to be the 'Mad Friday' roundabout just infront of Houx Annex

About 20 miles south of Le Mans there is a town called Chateau de Loir and last year they had a brillant car show including 1959 Fezza 250 TR and an Aston DBR1

It's also quite a hoot on the short straight between indy and arnage (same place as the PH meet in the day) usually gets busy about 1am

Is this the place that has the bar with all the pictures of drivers and cars around the walls?

The bar is question is at Chartres sur le loir which is a few miles to the east of chateau du loir. There is always a good turn out of classics in Chartres sur Le Loir on the Friday.
it might be that our correspondent has got the two towns mixed-up but I am too polite to comment

Roundabout in front of Houx Annex sounds like the favorite then

I saw the mpeg footage on PHTV & it does look manic
Kind of Douglas prom about 10 years ago before they closed it to proper
traffic on mad Friday evening!

I'm sooooooooooo excited......I cant wait

Houx roundabout is good, but if there's too many people it tends to get a bit dicey! I recall back in 04 when the old boy in the Morgan nearly wiped my brother and i out, when you're highly intoxicated it can sober you up pretty quick. There's that awesome clip of Zaks Caterham doing a do-nut then burning off, it looks so cool!!

Awesome firework shows though, i love it!! I took a mate who'd never been before, he was totally gob smacked when i put ear plugs before going turning in, he said the next morning the fireworks never stopped all night, i slept through it!!

Arnage village is great fun (if the gendames keep away). We usually go there early evening then retire to Houx roundabout at around midnight
