My 1970 Tuscan is Orange and I am thinking of havng it sticker wrapped for Le Mas in the Gulf colours. Rather than having it blue nwith orange in the middle as is the tradition, do you think it would be acceptable to have it orange with a blue gulf stripe?

basically it would be the reverse of this.

any ideas?

Mine's going to be something along similar lines, but orange on dark grey. Just had a quote for an ornage central stripe, and some large 'Gulf racing' stickers too, only with a slightly different wording (**** Diving!)

Been quoted £62 +vat for the orange stripe, but you can by a 10m long roll of 380mm wide vinyl for £10.56 so that may be the route to go.

I thought it would go well with the orange 'Pistonheads' Hazchem stickers.

I'll look out for your's at Arnarge on Friday

Only 14 days until we're off

Last year I bought the orange vinyl, cut it to width and then used black electrical tape as edging.... Don't think that cost me much more than £10.....

I'm taking my E-reg 1275 mini to Le Mans, its the right blue colour, so i'm thinking orange viper-stripes, already bought the gulf stickers from ebay. So if, no when, i make it keep an eye and an ear out for me.
I think the gulf colours are so legendary that no matter which way round you have them they will still have the same effect.
Hope i spot you there.

I'd say go for it.

My last years efforts:

Going the extra mile this year and getting race numbers on the doors and bonnet, bigger gulf stickers in front of the rear wheels and name lables on the rear windows. All materials in and waiting to go on.

My car is polar silver so suited the scheme well. There is an artic silver coming this year and thats having the same scheme with blue instead of orange

I'm excited

Cheers

Hey Guys...

I've been getting some costs to do something very similar to my Boxster (weird huh)!! See the thread here www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?t=275004

Ollie gave me some prices he may be able to help you as well.

See you in Le Mans!

Cheers

Try Neil at "racegraphics.net". I orderd an 8" wide 5 meter long vinyl in silver for £15 quid. He supplies custom orders so i dont think he'll have a problem supplying you in orange. Plus it arrived within 2 days. And he accepts paypal.

That looks great.

I've got my stripes on now after several abortive efforts, and the results are OK from a distance. Just need to pack in the morning and off we go....
