Hi, I know that radar/laser detectors are illegal in France but how about GPS devices (like www.gpsinforad.co.uk) that just have a database of fixed camera locations?
Anyone know if this is legal in France (and Germany)?
Cheers..... Andrew

I have an Inforad, and wondered the same thing. However, if you check a route down to LM from Clais (or any other ports) you will find there are only a couple of fixed camera sites, and they are very well signposted when you approach, so the GPS detectors are of limited use I think. Inforad themselves say they are fully legal in France (see www.gpsinforad.co.uk/car/help/faq/).

What you have to watch out for are the bridges where Clouseau stands with his radar gun, and the radar detectors are seriously banned in France... does anyone know if the Inforad adtabase includes known French mobile radar sites??
