Just a heads up for those interested, the hardware chain Robert Dyas are selling a Portable gas stove with 4 cans of butane for £14.95 - cheaper than your Carrefour special and a better alternative to disposable BBQs. Thought it was worth mentioning for those who don't like their sausages black

Argos are also doing a similar deal (although @ £19.99) if people don't have a Dyas shop near them.

According to the Eurotunnel web site

Eurotunnel are absolutely fine about compressed butane/propane as long as it's sealed (i.e. not connected to the cooker) and if they ask at check-in you have to say 'yes' and they'll put a sticker on your windscreen. You'll then get pulled coming through 'customs' and they'll check your gas cylinders comply.*

*Don't pack them right next to your hidden fireworks (which are banned on the tunnel).

Sorry to drag this back up again, bit picked up one of these hobs from Dyas yesterday so thanks for the tip. £9.99 for the hob and £4.99 for the 4 pack of canisters.

clicky

Whilst in I also nabbed a little wind up radio with built in torch (ok the torch bit is a bit worthless) but only £7 and haven't got to worry about batteries.

Had to leave at that point as I started eying up all sorts of other useless and needless stuff - Got to love Robert Dyas
