so the engine check light comes on car dies get it to the dealer at 5 and it aint gonna be ready by tomorrow at 8am (no shock)

SO we are in the support car. Only problem is the guy whos insured on it is pending a ban in the uk hence the old bill have his driving licence. Do you need a driving licence ie have to physically have it. Its probably a long shot but otherwise ill have to get insured on his car incurring more cost!

Ho hum life sux ...

Sorry to hear of your woes. Yes he needs to have his licence with him, so it looks like you're the driver then...

Bummer dude.

Maybe the sight of a Porsche on a low loader might just stop Rich36 rambling on about Tuscans on same!

but somehow I doubt it

I have about 10 photocopies of my 'card' driving licence and the paper counterpart (just in case)

Sorry to hear about the car. Even less expected with a Porker

Nightmare scenario but, as someone said, at least you're not stuck in the middle of France. I've heard some real horror stories about breakdown/recovery services. Wouldn't be overly concerned about the licence thing, only reason you'd need it would be if you're stopped for a traffic offence and you won't be committing any of those now will you!!!

At least you're still going

My car only got back on the road a couple of months ago after having the turbo, radiator, induction setup, suspension, brakes etc etc etc (!!!) to mention just a few bits removed and changed all by me. Since getting it back on the road I've had a water pipe burst, an oil line come undone, the brakes almost completely pack up!

But every time it happend I thought to myself "AT LEAST IT DIDN'T HAPPEN ON THE WAY TO LE MANS!!!"

Cos then you'd be royalled boogered!

Ahh I'm sorry its all gone Pete Tong.
Sorry I can't come too this year sicne last year was a blast. Maybe next year ;-)
(if you want to go again after all the hassles you've had this year!)

Maybe I'll take my uber reliable Alfa Spider next year instead of your unreliable Porsche.. Even Badger's has a flat today so maybe they are cursed for the month of June!!

All who are going - have fun. I'll think of you whilst I sit at home wiping up baby sick.

and another one ... one of our lot has just dropped his gearbox all over the M40 ... he's now on the back of a wrecker on his way to the nearest Mazda dealer, he should get a hire car tonight so might just make his 06.00 ferry in the morning.
Looks like he'll be in a 1.4 auto Fiesta

well just a quick note to say that my mates audi (tdi power eat my dust guys) made the trip down to le mans and weve pretty much just got back. Interesting time, started in the pissing rain on wednesday cruising along the monsoon like a roads at a steady 150kph. Didnt realise the speed went to 110 in the rain .. ah well all got there all got back no speeding fines all good.

Oh and thanks for all your kind comments, the porker camchain broke due to running too long with a broken variocam, thankfully only bent 2 valves and its "only" a couple of grand to fix which combination warranty and dealer will be paying for. So fingers crossed car back this week.

Im tempted by the classic le mans to see what its like compared to the main event plus then i can take the porker.

So hello to anyone we passed in the Chuck Norris Tour Vehicles, oh and thanks to my mate for letting me do reverse gear donuts in his mini on sunday night in camping bj ... it took him a while to realise it was his car

Ah only a year to w8 then for 2007
