To cut a long story short I may be able to buy an Airtrack camping ticket for this year.
Searching this forum gives me the impression they might be for 'named users'.
Just wanted to check this will be ok to use or are they non transferable at this late stage.

Is his name Wayne?

Just found this on their website though...

D) The names of all the people travelling in a party should be provided on the Booking Form which is signed by the Client. All names for the booking must be confirmed in writing to the Company no later than 4 weeks before departure. Any name that is changed in response to a request notified to the Company more than 6 weeks before departure will attract an amendment charge under paragraph 4(a) below. Any name that is changed in response to a request notified to the Company less than 6 weeks before departure will attract an amendment charge under paragraph 4(c) below. If any name is not supplied 4 weeks before departure, it will be treated as cancelled and will attract a cancellation charge under paragraph 5 below.

And...

4 CHANGES BY THE CLIENT

a) If after the Client’s booking has been confirmed the Client wishes to change the booking in any way and notifies the Company of that wish in writing more than 6 weeks before departure, the Company will do its utmost to make the requested changes. Whenever the Company can make the changes there will be an amendment charge. When the change is to the name of a passenger, the amendment charge will be a minimum of £25 per changed name. With other changes charges vary according to the type of travel arrangements but the amount charged shall be no less than £25 per person per amended component of the holiday. With some forms of air travel no changes will be possible and in that situation if the whole or part of the package has to be cancelled, the cancellation charge payable by the Client under paragraph 5 below will be the full booking price (or the full price of the cancelled component (s) of the package, as appropriate).

So I guess not!

let me know if you buy them - at present we have 10 pitches all together, with power to Waynes 2 - we are the largest group on Airtrack....but unfortunately Wayne usually has the truck + refrigerated trailor...no we've had to resort to a couple of Audi estates as support vehicles, but should still be well equipped

No, someone offered me a houx ticket (which was originally my first choice) so I went for that.
I didn't think I had time to sort it out today (which was a real shame) as I had the car booked in for a check up this morning.
It didn't help that I gave Wayne my old mobile number by accident and didn't get his message until last night - DOH!!
This is my first Le Mans and I don't really know how it works down there so I didn't want to risk something going wrong.
I'll cirtianly be looking into Airtrack for nrxt year though as it sounds suberb, although fairly expensive from what I can gather from the threads on here, still sounds like it may well be worth the extra.
Hopefully I wont get my car broken into now and really regret this ;-)
I hope you all enjoy your trip, I do feel for Wayne though, he must be gutted he's missing it.
Couldn't one of you guys take them with you and try and sort something out, I'm sure there will be a quite a few people that would love that site if you can get them on.
Many thanks for all the advice everyone anyway.
Gareth.

Gareth.

no worries - Wayne hasnt sold them, so by default we should have his pitches in our group anyway as they are paid for - we have been together on Airtrack the last 4 years...it is expensive if you only have 1 or 2 people per car - works out better if you have 4 to a car...it IS by far the 'premium' camp site there - fully secure with guard dogs 24/7, onsite shop, bar, plasma screens etc, showers that work with no queues etc

...the best bit is that the camp site is better than the motorshow - most years theres dozens of supercars camped up there

maybe see you on the way

cheers

Bogie,
I'll look out for a 'pack' of Elises (not sure how you'd say this).
If you see a scruffy git waving out of a green chimaera with black wheels, it'll be me.
In fact, by the sounds of it they wouldn't let me on the campsite anyway :-)
Thanks again,
Gareth.
