We've stopped taking the cars down to Le Houx now as too many people in the road and some with no respect for the cars they've come down to see. Lambs to the slaughter if you take a nice car through there!
i dont blame you, i really dont understand it, if your a car fan why spray water (hopefully!) into a lovely gallardo or TVR or anything, i wouldnt take my car down to there either. shame that a few people spoil it.

Yup would agree with that ... a little bit of water pistol (emphasis on water) action on wing / bonnet etc ok and fair enough for a bit of a giggle ...
But WTF where those muppets doing emptying water pistols into cars .. not only will it play havoc with the electrics etc, but i cant imagine that a full face blast of water can help ones driving abilities when drifting.
Saw one chap on a Harly type thing with a half face helmet who got a gob full ... thought he was going to put the bike on its stand and shove the offending water pistol somewhere rather inconvenient for the shooter!!!!
edited to say - ohh will get the pictures up later in the week once i can be arsed to troll through them all!!

XJS John, it was us
the guy driving was a racing driver and he does know what he's doing, i was in the back chucking water out of the side
we'd had problems locking the rear diffs up (yes it is 6 wheel drive) so sadly we couldnt use the diff locks which would have enabled us to do a completely controlable sideways 6 wheel drift!
i had to come from leicester in that thing and its very loud and does a maximum of 60mph! so my ears were ringing when i got home early this morning, it is an amazing vehicle though, its comfortably the best 'wheeled' offroad vehicle you can get, so the next best thing to a tank and theyre worth over £100,000 new

The run down past Maison Blanche to Karting Nord was a pain in the &ss the whole weekend. Hardly room to get the car thru the bums wanting burnouts. With a weak clutch, didn't really want to rip the middle out of it 400 miles from home whilst burning out. So the w&nkers were hammering on the car as I went thru to get back to the site.
Someone else in our site had a problem with a Vette on the driver parade and needed to push it back that route to make it survive due to the overheating problems. They were hosed all the way back and got back drenched as well as obviously very worried about their car. Can't people see when there is a time, place and most importantly a limit to having "fun" at others' expense.
Everyone I spoke to absolutely hated the atmosphere on those roads. It was the worst part of Le Mans and has no place in pistonhead living - hooligan scum and no respect for cars or other people's property. I am just amazed this scum were not keying cars as they went past !!!!
It needs to be sorted.

I love the Friday night action..........BUT this year there was a disappointing amount of thuggery. As the evening progressed young guys ripped the direction signs for the roundabout off and threw them into the road thinking it was 'funny'? Next the round signs were being used to 'bat' empty glass bottles into the air which i had to dodge before making a hasty retreat. Some may find this funny and although i'm up for a laugh this was going way too far imo.Firstly flying glass bottles are obviously dangerous not just to people but to peoples cars, secondly ripping up French road signs in a host country doesn't portray the English (British) in a good way.Alcohol is an obvious source of blame, probably drunk by guys barely 18.I do hope these guys weren't British but due to the amount of British there it doesn't look good for the rest of us!
Apart from the above i had a great time, that's 6 years in a row now........bring on 2007!

Roudabout provided the expected level of excitement.
I know the whole waterpistol debate could go on for ever, however, people who know what the deal is on the Houx roudabout and actively go get their car, minimoto etc for a bit of show boating have nothing to complain about.
There was a 20 ish year old guy going round on a miniquad and, and from my slightly drunken blurred perspective, everytime he got splashed his older friend wearing the 2003 pistonhead shirt charged over a couple of times like some chav intent on starting a fight. No need!
It is perfectly acceptable to get angry if you were innocently returning from the parade only to have your dash soak with beer, but this guy just seemed unreasonble to me.
Just to cover myself, someone could have thrown a bottle at the guy etc, but not that i saw

that french guy that got soaked on his moped at about 5:30 kinda time was hilarious. he got soaked and was so angry that he stopped his moped where it was, parked it up and walked over to the guy that got him the most to find that he was about 2 foot shorter than the guy that had soaked him!
he then got back on, struggled to start his moped and got a whole lot more of a drenching before he could get away. fantastic
