Anyone see the fire that was lit up at Basejour??

Sunday morning (1am) was talking to neighbours and saw a fire nearby, thinking everyone had left we thought we would go say hello only to find bin on fire and dry grass catching bloody quickly.

2 people stood nearby, my and a friend started to rush and get 5 litre bottles of water and try and beat it out with a rag.... 5 trips later with bottle from the tap and said individuals had buggered off.... clearly them who started it.... bunch of tts, if it had caught properly the whole area would have gone up as its all dry grass round there...

thankfully didn't spoil trip and put thing out..

Saw a couple of large fires at BSJ Sunday night, fire brigade turned out to one of them. Thankfully no-one hurt

Apparently one of the fires (the one that the fire brigade attended) was due to a distress flare landing on some old sofa that had been left behind.

chaps came to ask us if our fire was under control.... we pointed them to the store of water we had on standby just in case...

yer 2 fires put out by the fire brigade (comedy little firetrucks) on bj compsite. Im not so certina a flair landed on the sofa i think the sofa was helped onto an already impressive fire. It kinda made me feel guilty with my encouraging donuts performed on the same spot that became the large fire it seemed a bit over the top. The second fire near the tree line could of easily sparked a tree fire along that line ...

tbh im not sure if its beaujesour or the le mans thing thats getting a little bit too taken over with slighty over the top loutish behaviour, i dont wanna come over as snobby but some times things can go too far ...

just my 2cents

Yes, the distress flare landed and then the guys added some more stuff to the fire as they were going to burn it anyway! Flare owners blamed a faulty parachute - should've gone out before hitting random campers

Was some loutish (ie titing around on a quad doing donuts after spraying everyone with dust then stones at BJ. Not big and not clever. All sorted but still not in the spirit of LM even if it was my first.

He won't be doing that again though - cost him £280 for the stonechips, but at least he took it on the chin and paid up.
