Hi all

Speaking to the ACO at the moment(with my crap french) about hiring some sort of hospitality for next years race. Possibly even looking at campsite space.

Want to keep things simple and also not charge the earth, so was wondering, what everyone thought and what would you pay per head to use the facility.

Would depend entirely on location. Near to the village/grandstands, etc would be perfect and then I (and a bunch of mates) would be very interested.

Yes def no Chavs..lol

Was thinking of getting a hospitality next to the track, eg so all can view the race. Camp site, was thinking closer the better and trying to do something a bit different with the site.

One of my things i have always found a bit lacking during the evening, is entertainment in the evening at the site, but also somewhere just to chill out if needed.

Guys, not wishing to appear sad, will add you to the mates list, as think this will be happening. Will send you details at a later point. My group alone, there are 20people.

Cheers

Guys

What do you think would be a good price to pay? either for drinks all in, or just basic hospitality. To be honest, in order to keep the Chavs out, thinking something higher end of the market might work.

Considering the kit that people take down each year (cars not tents) then you can tell that there's a few quid floating around. I reckon there'd be plenty of takers whatever the cost was so keep up the good work. I've heard nowt from the ACO since I emailed them last week about a trackside enclosure, must have been the Brummie accent I used!

lol... i ended up calling them today and being a pain in the neck... I agree with you comment, about the money down there. I suppose what i wanted, was to be able to offer people something who are also on a limited budget... tough one....

There was a group of blokes on HA just up from us who had some chain fencing put up on Wed when we arrived, but then didn't arrive till the Thursday evening. They had the cars closely parked up on the perimeter and the tents/gazebo in the centre which looked pretty secure.

Reckon we keep on at the ACO and see what comes of it. There's also the Ted comment about a PH enclosure which might come to something. If nothing solid comes about due to Frenchy being French then we could just follow the lead of the fellas above?

Arrive well early,
Claim large area and mark with chain mail
Park closely on perimeter to stop wanderers
Arrange hourly "sits" when some folk will always be on site keeping watch (well drinking beer and poking theiving pikeys with sticks).

A PH enclosure is a MUST HAVE.

We can all look after each other's cars and gear for starters, leaving aside the obvious solcial benefits.

I'd pay a premium for this. Anyone else?

Ted?

Maybe we should be thinking about a joint effort of people here?

David, I have 2 other people (toobin and tofuman) (2 cars) as well as myself that went this year, apoke to them last night and they'd both be interested.

In terms of cost I reckon it doesn't really matter (within reason) if the facilities are to everyones liking. I spent about a grand this year including chunnel, entry tickets, petrol, camping stuff, food and beer.

Cheers

Good idea chaps.

David, I know that Audi were looking at around £400 a ticket this year and this pretty much included everything, I think that sounded pretty reasonable.

Was talking to Events girl from Aston last night and she gave me some ideas of figures they were working, although obviously more, as its ASTON!..lol

Do you think people would want to do a massive convoy down to lemans? Campsite , with security/GOOD washrooms ?

I think I'll have to step out of this conversation if prices of £400 are being talked about. As much as private toilets. showers, personal security, dog patrols and laser eye ID facilities go I'll just be happy keeping pikeys out my tent.

I'm happy with 2 showers in 4 days, dropping the kids off behind the grandstands and runs to Carrefour for slabs of meat. Having like minded folk to watch out over each others gear in a semi-secure environment is really all I'll be after.

Saying that I'll be keeping a keen eye on any developments though....
