Guess where I went to play on Saturday .....
Discussion
I posted this on Club Scuderia, in response to a rather cheap CS being offered for sale in "Autotrader"
I was hoping it would rather p1ss you all off.
Having only driven a modern ferrari for an hour the day before, I was kindly offered the keys to a CS on saturday ...I replied with "but i've never driven an F1 before" ... "it's easy", came the reply.
So, there i was, sat in the pit lane at Le Mans, the mecca for many of us motor racing fans.
Ignition on, pulse racing, stomach churning .... button pressed - "f**k" me, i whispered to myself ... down the pit lane i go, helmet struggling to contain my huge smile.
Controller says "Go" and it's off down the circuit entry lane, and then within seconds it's "Wow !" and then under the Dunlop bridge and then goodbye to the traditional 24 hour circuit section.
A minute or so and the butterflies have gone ..... unbelievable, as car and driver begin to gel, but it's only the first lap so let's be sensible.
End of the first lap, and driving past the grandstand, flat out and hitting the limit in every gear ... incredible sensations !
Second lap, really enjoying this now ... feeling comfortable ... comfortable enough to pass three cars on the second lap.
A few more laps see further improvement in both the racing lines and general coordination of man and beast.
Time to pull in.
Once on the exit lane and into the the pits, i struggle to see, due to the wee tear of emotion .... It does'nt get better than this.
I am awaiting for the guys at Dess Vehicle Management to get back to me on the above CS ....
