May as well go the full hog, we are planning to go to the ring after Le Mans this year. Cars are still to be defined, but what kind of timeframe/financial damage are we looking at? I was hoping to be back home wednesday evening, is that doable?

I've costed up a trip for Spa Trackday, Nurburgring Stay over 3 days and watch the ADAC 24hr and then Le Mans and it's coming in at £550 per person, based on 2 people sharing a car, that includes fuel at 20mpg between locations and staying in hotels all the way.

No....
Beer
Tolls
Fuel on track
Nurburgring lap fees
Speeding fines
Food

etc etc

biggest thing you need to find out Alex is whether the ring is even open on late Monday 18th and Tuesday 19th June. Might only be a couple of hours in the evenings from say, 1730-2000. Then, is it worth the 500km+ drive from Le Mans to the ring?

More to the point, is the track even open at all? They have a 24-hr race running the same w/e as LM. I had thought about doing something similar last year but the Nordschleif was closed.

Some guys from here (DucatiGary and Nervous spring to mind) went there last year on the tuesday after the race...

I will check up on that.

Heading there for the Tuesday or Wednesday would have turned the LM holiday into a two week affair, We leave on the Sunday before LM and Tour around France doing cultural stuff before reverting to type for the racing!! As disapointing as it is I just don't have the spare holiday days to allow two weeks for a LM and Nord trip. I can do the Nord over a long weekend so that will keep me happy..

we looked at it last year but as pointed out the ring 24 and le mans 24 were on the same weekend so not possible, this year they are on consecutive weekends so the track should be open as usual in the evenings, check on nurburgring.de

that said, only commited late so wasn't part of the planning stages this year, so we are coming back on the monday... no chance for us attacking the ring for a lap or 2 unfortuantly!
