For those of you coming to Le Mans this year there is as always the exhibition just north of Le Mans (just off the motorway exit ZI Nord or before Le Mans coming down the N138) which is a free event. This kicks off at 9am on the friday and this year the featured cars on exhibition are Austin Healeys. I expect that as usual we'll have the usual regulars with Ferrari F40's etc coming and last year there was an interesting Jaguar Mk2 with a V12 engine installed. About 600 cars stop off on their way each year. There is a good bar and restaurant, plenty of cars popping in and out and of course the parade starts from here at 4pm. Jazz group, plenty to do and see and most importantly - IT IS FREE! I help run the event and if you see either a Lynx short nose BRG or Lynx long nose Ecurie Ecosse I won't be far away. Hope to meet some of you there.

Ive been to St Saturnin on the friday in both 2005 and 2006. Its well worth a visit - not just for those passing by on the way down from the ferries, but makes a lovely break from the livliness around the circuit for those already there, and a nice distance away, so makes for a lovely drive there if you miss out the city or dual carriageways and take a country road route. Mainly classic cars and some lovely exotic modern machinery too. Great atmosphere - bit like a cross between your local summer village fete and an exclusive outdoor classic car meet. Recommended for those who appreciate our older cars.

I'll be making a trip here this year unless I get in the parade again. Seen ad's for it the last couple of years but always ended up the wrong side of LM and in the vicinity of beer. Think Friday will be the Arnage meet, lunch, St Saturin and then beertime in Karting Nord.

thumbup Agree this event gets better every year. I happened to be the first car to arrive in their 1st year when they only had about 50 or so cars there in a car park next to a warehouse on the N138 - now look at it - probably several K's of brits and their cars. Difficult to imagine many British villages welcoming 'les frog's' in the way brits get welcomed at St. Saturnin so well done to them. It's a must on my list of places to go on Friday

Hi Phil,
I quite fancy this as well, any chance of meeting up at Friday morning Arnage meet and tagging along with you? Might be nice to have a small convoy down there? Cheers,Tom (Plus us yank tanks should stick together!)

Sure, we'll be at Arnage parked up from about 10am with the rest of the Corvettes for a good couple of hours. The Vette's got my name in the rear window so should be easily spotted.

look out for my old man's rally Healey on display. Will be wearing White Rabbit Racing stickers

It's the most travelled Healey in the world.

I'm leading a little convoy of Triumphs for a back road drive the long way from the circuit to St. Saturnin on the Friday morning - something to do other than drink beer/chase shade/burn food smile
