Looks like i'm going to Le Mans for the first time this year in a selection of rather exciting cars! We're probably going to be staying at the Airtrack campsite! What's it like? Any recommendations for things to do, be aware of etc?

Cheers,
Phil

Don't tell everyone but it is great,

Its well worth the extra cost due to the facilities and the location is pretty good.
Depending on what day your going down the traffic getting to the campsite will be hideous.

Also take a very big hammer and some very long tent pegs as the ground is very stony and hard.

The bar is ok but expensive but your only a 10min walk to the Dunlop curves and the Stella bar!!!

See you there.

Nice and secure too with someone on the gate at all times - that and the close proximity of the track is ideal.

Just cant beat waking up to the sound of cars screaming by

We've been with them for the last 4 years and vowed last year never to again.

For what they offer, it used to be good value but the prices they are charging now are ridiculous considering unless you get there very early in the week (we were there by midday on Thursday last year) you are likely to be camping on a very hard patch of dirt with no shade to speak of, paying for overpriced beer served by the "staff" who seem more interested in drinking than serving....

However, it is secure but there is much much better value to be had.

We'll be staying in Maison Blanche this year for a fraction of the cost.

Stayed in the Airtrack enclosure for the last few years. (doing something different this year though.) Thoroughly recomend Airtrack site...

Biggest bit of advice. Take some bloody big nails with penny washers and a proper hammer. The ground is about as hard as you can get.

We've just paid the £55 for them to sort the tents out to be honest. We're going to be buggered enough for space by the looks of it anyway.

Agree there's no way they are worth £55 - you could buy one cheaper out there and then bin it. They are very small and wouldn't fancy being in one if there's a downpour.

Understand about the space - Jim and I are taking bin bags as our clothes, tent & tooth brushes

Sounds like a plan. I was thinking of doing the old Glastonbury 1 t-shirt, 1 pair of shorts and bollox to the underwear.
