Possibly.

I'll be heading to make the 10:40 ferry from Dover on the Thursday morning from Saffron Walden, so joining the M11 at Bishops Stortford.

We'll not be hanging around though... By the time we're actually going to LM, we're definitely "in the mood" if you know what I mean.

Well we are on the 7.55 am ferry so will be leaving just a little bit early. Probably about 5.45am or something sleep. But still, if anyone is heading to Dover around that time and going down the M11 then the more the merrier.
I reckon meeting at the Bishops Stortford Welcome Break would be easier then meeting at Stansted though.

Oh and martin, we need to get hold of 3 walkie-talkie's this year. Try and poach them from the shop before Phil does driving.

Yup, first time for me, decided it best to have the extra day, and not have to rush the driving, first time driving on continent aswell.

So, we're doing Leeds-Dover on Tuesday, First Ferry, then aiming to be at Le Mans mid afternoon - idea being we will be all set up, get at least 1 decent nights kip, then can watch the masses arrive on Thursday.

I see you have a 205 GTi. Excellent choice. I had one a few years ago and it made a couple of Le Mans trips.

FYI: If your alternator fails whilst you are there, you can buy a battery and stick it in, and it will have enough power to get you back to Dover before the engine starts to misfire as you are getting on the boat at Calais and you'll then finally breakdown going up the hill on the motorway out of Dover. By that point you'll have AA cover though, so you'll then be able to get home. All good fun.

We'll I tried to find out when Phil and his lot we're going down but as he's as stupid as you are and relies on other people to arrange everything for him he didn't know when he was going down hehe.

Find out exactly what ferry they are on and ring me or text me. Then i'll ring Tom and Joe and see if there ok for another day off work, then i'll ring the ferry company and see if we can change the booking. But the £10 admin fee is on YOUR HEAD mad

I'm kind of wishing we we're going down on wednesday as well now anyway. Won't seem as much of a rush to get there and get a tent spot.

And willdew, cheers I'll bear that in mind. Certainly sounds like you had an interesting trip back laugh.

I don't think anyone but me would be able to read that, it's taken years learning to understand the language of martin laugh.

If you look on the 'ferry crossing' thread there are 15 people on our ferry, and thats just people bothering to post. I reckon we should leave Wednesday morning sometime, but there will be a load of people of most ferries so I think i'll just book which ever one looks best. I'm thinking 9 or 10 am although that means driving down during rush hour, so I don't know whether to go earlier or later. I'll give the lovely people at P&O a call though.

Just spoken to P&O and it will cost an extra £19 per car (£9.50 per person) to change to the Wednesday but keeping the same ferry crossing time (7.55am). The longer we leave it the more it will get though. What do you want to do Martin?

mike i have no idear what you are talking about my spelling is perfect.lol

let me have a chat with Tina and give her some sweet zelley charm and go from there. the £9.50 dosent bother me at all, and with the rush hour thing, wonce we roor past the M25 i think it will be fine.
if we do go on wensday it means that phill and i wont be in for most of the week witch may cause a little bother with a fue more people at work. Also some customers oney like to deal with a member of the zelley falamey, so the more time bouth of us arnt hear the wors it is.

il have a chat to Tina now and il call you later.
