It may have a hazy, beer fogged memory but I recall someone the great race a couple of years ago saying there was a bus that dropped off and picked up at the viewing points around the track during the race...anyone care to cast any light on this?

Top news, thanks. Going this year with my mate in the Chim, my bro is coming along on his bike and it would have presented some problems getting around...Will see how it goes...its no good really. 36 years old and excited like a kiddy at Chrimbo!

We used the bus a couple of years ago. Went from BSJ to Arnage, to Mulsanne, to the start/finish. All free.

Have a look on justtickets. IIRC there is an excursion for about £25 out to different parts of the track which you otherwise cant get to, sounds good to me really.

Surely they can't take you to places that aren't open to the public anyway?

You would think so, but I have a feeling that this is the case!!

The Just Tickets bus goes to Mulsanne and Arnage - just the same trip as the "Navette" - the local public shuttle bus. The only advantage for shelling out the exhorbitant prices is the guarantee that you'll get on and that it will run. The public shuttle can be very hit and miss and is really crowded at peak times. People have been known to have been stranded for the whole night out at the corners because of this.

Maybe this year I'll make it round the other side of the track then with the buses!

I've done the bus trip out to Arnage over the last few years - great place to watch. However, last year we took pushbikes (another reason for taking a camper van) and this allowed us out to Arnage and the Porsche Curves whenever we wanted with none of the traffic hassles ....

There were 2 shuttle bus routes last year.

The main one does main entrance -> Arnage -> Mulsanne -> main entrance. Queues to catch the bus are fine at 3am on your way to watch brake disks at Arnage.

The other was running around the camp sites inside the circuit (I'm guessing to the main gate but never took it that far). One stop is handy for the Porsche curves.
