Take a small set of steps to stand on to watch the start / end of the race!! We see loads of locals doing it every
year on the way to our grandstand seats

Just something that never seems to get mentioned!!

Essential unless you find your place at the front 4 hours before the start of the race (and have a tightly controlled beer and toilet run organised!!), wanna just listen or if you're 7ft tall!! We learnt this in our first year at Le Man.

Or get a grandstand seat []
Team Lang still have places in every grandstand opposite the pits.

Or just do as we did last year and take a seat on the grass bank by Chapelle looking towards Tetre Rouge just as the drop the flag. I reckon we got settled with about 30 seconds till the Audi's went humming by.

I must add that we've never used steps!! Although it looks like a good idea if you're without grandstand tickets and wanna view right on the start line to see all the cars lined up. Also if you're a local, it's handy to tie your dog to!!

This was very frowned upon last year- some guys in my stand objected to locals sitting on 6ft tall ladders and "convinced them" that they should move- which they did. They when they moved to the next stand along, they were reported to the trackside staff, and had their ladders taken off them.

Buy a grandstand seat- only about £70 in some cases, and they ARE still available. Ring the ticket agencies! Don't ruin it for others that have paid.

Almost as annoying as the massive flags some of the Dutch guys insist on flying infront the stands.
