Hi all,

Due to the earlier start time of 1500 hours this year(French elections)the ACO(organisers)are seriously considering running this years Vingt Quatre Heures du Mans anti-clockwise to avoid the the drivers predicament of driving an extra hour into the setting sun. There are more complaints from drivers over this possibility than anything else.Seems to make sese.Could be we all need to change grandstand tickets for Maison Blanche by Ford Chicane. What do you all think?

Where did you hear this from? Sounds a little odd. It would essentially be a new track for the drivers to learn.

Unless this is some kind of sick April Fools' joke!

I would have to call for an April fool... but maybe only cos i'm pedantic. Wether they start at 3 or 4 PM, the sun will still be high and therefore they'll have to drive the same amount of time facing the sunset (not even sure they do anyway, too much forest around and the track's orientation isn't right)...

Good one though, terribly sorry if I ruined it for anyone paperbag You still have 12 hours to find a beleivable one anyway

Yeh, after awaking from my Sunday morning stupor, I've realised that that is pretty obvious! Durrrr.

I just heard they were going to drive backwards instead and switch the gearboxes round so all 5 or 6 gears all went in reverse. Although some wossy drivers were complaining it'll be too dangerous doing 240mph backwards down the Mulsanne straight. Bunch of poofs hehe.

You missed an important part out of the post I'm afraid. It is only the RHD cars that will go in the opposite direction since the ACO have instituted a new water bottle collection depot for thirsty drivers, simiar to bike racing. This to be placed at the exit of the second chicane on the Mulsanne. That way it is easier for them to collect the bottle as they pass.
