I wasn't going to go to Le Mans this year because it clashes with my son's GCSEs (we've been every year for quite a while). We normally go for five days camping (Wednesday - Monday). However, I'm already getting withdrawal symptoms. Now a mate of mine told me he's positive that there are companies which will fly you in on Saturday morning put you up in a hotel, and fly you out on Sunday evening. Does anyone know of such companies? Google hasn't really helped me.

Just looked in the MRI Brochure, they fly down to Le Mans, but from Stanstead. You might want to try Southampton Airport Directly, They may be able to put you in touch with a local private charter Airline. If you want to get in touch with MRI there website is www.motorracinginternational.uk.co

In previous years MRI used to have a charter flight package: via Stanstead and Le Mans airfield, out Saturday, back Sunday, with a coach available for sleeping Saturday night. I have both the MRI and Page and Moy brochures for 2007 and there's no mention of flight packages, so I suspect they have been discontinued. Maybe they do them but do not publish them very well. Maybe there are other firms who do this too.

Another way is to fly to Tours, hire a car and then use that to get to/from the curcuit, and sleeping if necessary. This may mean flying out Saturday morning and returning Monday afternoon. I remember looking at this option earlier this year. I seem to recall that the flight is from Stanstead so it's probably EasyJet. You can use either of MRI's or P&M's tickets only service before you go.

Good luck!

It's Ryanair who fly to Tours from Stansted, if that helps, and as of this moment the flight out on Saturday (arriving 13.20) and flying back Monday (arriving 14.05) is indicated at £213.26 for two. Accomodation is the problem but I have friends offering B&B at Mulsanne. Just an option for you to consider.

I think the LM Airport charters are probably pricy. I'm flying into Tours and renting a Minibus...have a number of LM campers at my lake. Ryanair Stanstead to Tours plus cheap Car hire. Worth a look.
