2008 dates?

I know, I know, let's get through this year's first... but I have been asked to find out when the 2008 race is likely to be as a friend is trying to arrange a big event and, heaven forbid, it clashes with the biggest event of all.

I know it's usually around the 3rd weekend of June, but does anyone know when the dates are usually announced?

I'm told it's the weekend nearest the longest day, for what it's worth.

I thought it was the 24th week of the year, if so that makes it the 14th/15th. Hope so anyway as next year I have a wedding to go to on the 7th!

Theoretically, the 24th weekend. However, the date has to be agreed with the local police, mayor, fire-men, you name it so is never finally confirmed until the end of the previous year. Taking a flyer is usually OK though as it's only been moved a couple of times. You can always get rid of tickets you book in advance and don't want though so just go for it and hope (or tell your mate to get married in May or July like a civilised person so you can be sure to do both.)
