According to my new Sat Nav, the full address is listed as 445 Rue de Laigne, 72100 Le Mans, D72

My Jaguar has built in satnav. After selecting France as the destination country, entering Boulevard Des Italiens, Le Mans gets the result. This is the road that runs beside the west of the cicuit in the Maison Blanche and Parking Blanc areas. R

I believe the correct address for Lemans is " Your Holiness".

Don't just follow your satnav to the front gate. You need to follow the coloured signs to the correct car park/camping area or you could waste a lot of time.

Good advice, Piglet. In general, if you know where you're heading for either follow the signs which are pretty good or better still have a Le Mans street map and find your way around avoiding the usual bottlenecks, and ditch the satnav. R

Sat Nav unneccessary. A map will suffice. Easy route. But up to you.

Last year we had 20 cars in convoy (sort of) and the only one who got lost (BOTH DIRECTIONS!!!) was using Sat Nav. On the way back muppet programmed Rouen into the streets and ended up in Rouen Street in Rennes. hahahah

My old sat nav, a Navman Icn used to recognise Antares, which is handy if you are camping nearby.

In my experience following the coloured signs to the car park/camping wasts a lot of time! For Expo you get routed miles out of the way by the red signs! It is a question though as to whether I can recognise the correct exit of the ring road, to arrive easily at the entrance to Expo!

It pays to look at the planned route first hehe

Best thing to do is put important locations in (eg: Le Mans, ferry port, anywhere else you want to visit) and just use them when you need to get to somewhere specific. Beats reading a map when you're on your own in the car and whilst it's probably easier now, first time I went through Rouen it was...interesting to say the least (it was also around 6pm so fairly busy!)

Not much point arriving triumphantly at the front gate having fought your way through the queues if you're going to Houx though is there?

For a newbie it's a lot simpler to follow the signs first time and then sort out the short cuts later.

The road system is basically “Roman” hence most of the main roads head to the centre imagine it like a wheel with the spokes as the road in and out and then several “ring” roads. Another way just follow signs for centre ville to get in to town and ZI sud (zone industrial south) to get to the circuit. There are a few shortcuts to stuff and places to park in town, but they were discovered over years and not easy to follow, I find the west of Le Mans the hardest part to navigate around
