Planning on going to Lemans this year in the dodge SRT10 truck.

Height of said truck is 1901mm.

train height restriction is 1850mm.

Don't want to have to book alternative train cos we're all going down in a crowd.

What's the general veiw, Is it worth taking a chance and going for it....there's gotta be some tolerance....hasn't there?

There was a Ram in front of us last year, anything too big / wide / low etc gets lobbed in the commercial section which is double height anyway.

I think there are special singe deck carriages for cars higher than 1.85m

These usually carry coaches and caravans, so shouldn't be a problem, just make sure
you let them know to reserve space.

Make sure when you go donw the ramp you tell the loaders you want to go no the single deck not the dual deck.
Last year the morons sent Shoebag onto the single deck in her Diablo and it trashed both of the passenger side wheels rage 'cos the width of the track is about 1" wider than a Diablo.

Yes, as said above, you go on the normal train but in the front where it's one deck. You must declare your vehicle as overheight when you book. If you do not you will be asked to pay the extra, at best, or be turned away, at worst. That's as per their t&c's. However, you might be lucky if you encounter a non-jobsworth but it will be busy so I think tolerance may be low!

Cheers guys for the feedback. spoken to Travel destinations who reckon it'll be worth taking a chance but I'm more worried about the width.

you need to go with the commercial vehicles Lee, else youll scrub all the way
down the train, your viper (1880mm wide) only has about 4" either side and thats a real pain beleive me

One other option... let the tyres down as you're getting on, and re-inflate once off.

the tyres, and probably your wheels even though you have a higher side wall the kerbs are quite high.

The only way i got down it was to open the door and lean out while driving watching the kerb all the way. Paul for some reason had to reverse his GTS about 4 feet and even with some staff watching he dinged a wheel

Your height will most likely be an issue they do not have a lot of room for normal cars let alone yours, my parents used to take a roof bike rack and that always went in the coach style carriages I personally would ammend your booking as it will be a squeeze even if you do get it in.
