Is it true that entrance tickets can still be purchased on the gate once at Le Mans?
Also does student discount apply to anyone with an NUS card?
I've e-mailed the ticket office but as yet had no reply!
Thanks.

Yes, you can buy them at the gates - anywhere around the circuit. €61,00 this year. Cash or Credit/Debit Card.

Not sure about NUS cards though, I'm too old!

We've got 1 spare General Admission ticket this year, as someone in our group is bringing his son who is only 15 (gets in free).

If anyone wants a GA ticket at face value (which I think is £45 but I'll need to check with our ticket organiser) please PM me.

Editted to say the GA ticket has been sold. Many thanks.

Thanks for the replies everyone.
I've finally recived an e-mail back from the ticket office, it read;

This rate is available only at the gate upon presentation of your student card.

This means that weekend ticket prices are 34Euro for anyone with an NUS card buying a ticket at the gate. Good times.
Thanks again,
Tarka.

Bingo, NUS scores again!

RE the cinema comment - believe it or not, you can get student discount on so many good and services. A lot of the time places that don't advertise it will offer a discount when asked.

For instance, I get 1/3rd off AA brreakdown, 20% off my car insurance, I am eligible for a Halfords trade card (engineering student), as well as nearly every high street shop.

So it wasn't such a stupid question!

What time is the ticket office open?

We are arriving close to midnight on Tuesday - can we still get tickets at the gates at that time?

Regarding the ticket office opening times it states on the le mans website that it is open Monday to Friday 9.00am to 12.00pm then 1.00pm till 5.00pm. I'm assuming this will be at the turnstiles by the main entrance. Unless anyone knows any different?

Not that i would, but you could make a tidy profit buying tickets at student price then selling them on for a small profit, i know typical student anything for money!
Tarka.

The office referred to on the site is the main office under the ACO grandstand, which moves to the "Rotunda" outside the main entrance on race week. However, the ticket booths by the turnstiles are open when the race is on for the sale of general entrance tickets.

I'm reasonably sure you can buy GA tickets at the entrance to the Houx camp site.

I've always had mine when I've arrived, so never paid much heed to it but I believe that just to the right of the car gate are a couple of ticket windows.

Think you could be right. The last two years we stopped at Tetre Rouge on the way in....

..so let me get this right - if I arrive at the circuit on Wednesday evening, I guess around 9pm after Poole-St Malo crossing, clutching my Maison Blanche camping permit, I won't be able to get in because I don't have my GA tickets yet?

Yes and no.

At 9PM they will sell you a GA ticket.

Like I said I've never needed to but I believe all 'in circuit' camp sites have GA ticket booths at their entrances.

You need to have the GA ticket because there is no further control between the camp site and the track at Maison Blanch, Houx, Chapelle/Musse, Karting Nord and Tetre Rouge. The other camp sites; Bleu, Expo, Beausejour, Technoparc and Houx Annex are all 'out-side' the circuit and you have to pass through an entrance (where you GA ticket is checked) to get to the circuit.
