What in your opinion is the most beautiful car ever to have raced at Le Mans?

and what is the most memorable Le Mans car ever? (and why?)

For me nothing is as eye-wateringly gorgeous than the Aston Martin DBR1 that won in 1959... quite simply stunning!

and for most memorable, for me, it has to be the Ford GT40. Entered purely to beat Ferrari and got this 1st 2nd 3rd finish, and 3 years more afterwards.

The original Bentleys, D-Type, DBR1, GT40, 917, 956/962, McLaren F1, Bentley Speed 8....too many to choose from and plenty I've missed out!

You post these, and then expect people to beat them? It's like calling 6 No Trumps as your opening bid (alledgedly)

Yeah, Speed 8 should be most memorable for me, but there is just something about the 787B. Its the first one I thought of!

I would say that the most beautiful for me has to be one of the following....

- DBR1
- C Type
- D Type
- 250LM

The most memorable has to be the Blower Bentleys, do race cars (or lorries to quote Ettore) get much better than this?

There comeback was pretty darned speciall to me too. cloud9

haha, maybe I did set the bar a bit high there.

another memorable car has to be the Audi R8... first diesel powered car to win at le mans...

a milestone in racing history surely?

and the bentley blower has got to be the ultimate le mans car!

Yes and no, I'd say whoever wins this year will be the true winner, the Audis will actually have some proper competition then. :lol

One of the most memorable of recent years has to be the Mercedes CLR, due to it's low-flying acrobatics!

That DBR1 is amazing, one of my favourites also has to be the Jaguar D Type.

The Zonda looked pretty amazing a few years ago too! So weird to see such a work of art racing!

1953 C-Type Jaguar. Just a perfect shape, much nicer than the D-Type.

The Bentley EXP Speed 8 was pretty special for the modern era as well.

And the Spykers redface)
