Adrian Newey in LM GT2?

Just noticed an A. Newey entered as one of the drivers of the AF Corse Ferrari 430. Is this the same sketcher of fine F1 machinery that made a bit of a mess of a GT40 at the Classic?

Not the most conventional choice for an endurance race then. At least if he does put knock the splitter off, theirs noone better to design a replacement, those Ferrari ones are horribly dear I've heard.

I was at the Arbor Hotel & took 28 shots ending in this - apparently he walked away with a cut finger. I honestly don't know how.

That was a serious shunt and they didn't build them to crash in the 60s. Very lucky. At least it shows he wasn't pussy footing around, frightened by the shear value of the car though. i've often wondered whether they are really pushing when you see some of the really valuable classics out on the track.

Isn't that him on the right with his hands on his head realising what he's done?

I wonder if he had a clause in his Red Bull contract to allow him to do this, especially as it's preparation and run up is happening around the Canadian GP and during the US GP.

Yes it is the very same A. Newey who is reknown for turning out fast if fragile F1 machines.

The team have let him run at Le Mans this year despite the fact that it clashes with the F1 race at Indy..

I hope Newey can drive it quickly enough - apparently Karl Wendlinger was going to have the drive before Adrian blagged his way in, and Karl can certainly pedal a race car...

His Ferrari is sponsored by Red Bull too.

Don't forget he works for the 'Red Bull Technologies' not the actual race team. Maybe his presence is simply not required at the track.
