No Tax!

went to tax the car today and couldnt find the V5 ( house move) apparently the dvla no longer except the forms for the application of a new V5 and I have to contact Swansea! Dont know what to do now as the car may not have any tax for enxt week.

The irony being its bloody tax exempt anyway!

I think its £305 for a year! and then its £400 next year! bastids!

I might be wrong but I think you need your V5 more than your tax disc when you get to France

Can you renew the licence online without the V5?

U don't need the V5 for online tax. Just the reference number from the renewal notice as long as you have the new style MoT certificate. It's dead easy.

Go to the DVLA website and look for the page to renew car tax online.

I forgot to retax my tax exempt Landie for several months, I rang the DVLA and asked if I would have to pay a fine and the lovely Welsh lady said the fine is useally the same as the missed tax and as mine cost nothing I would have no fine!!

So just drive it there and sort it out as soon as you get back

do it online, the computer recognises that you have insurance and a V5 so you don't need these documents to hand

that only works if you have all of the documents that you need. ( i didnt)

All sorted though. I went to the local DVLA office in the end where they couldnt be more helpful. Tax disc is now all in place...
