Travelling back from the Isle Of Man at 01:45 this morning and the engine suddenly boils and hits 300c. The damned alternator belt had snapped, water pump stopped and radiator boiled. Eventually got home at gone 5am today with a very sad looking vehicle.

It's now enroute to Nick Rydens so with a bit of luck the parts will be sent overnight from Scotts and I can be on the road as planned.

Such a worry, Le Mans without the Corvette just wouldn't be the same so fingers crossed!!!!!

I'd already used them to keep the fan moving, what are the chances of needing two pairs of tights?

Sounds promising though, the cars now dropped off at the garage of a fellow Corvette owner, parts ordered tomorrow, repaired (touch wood) on Tuesday and then on the road.

There'll be big handshakes all round if this gets sorted!

Cheers, we're booked to stop in Ashford on Tuesday night and sail on 09:25 Wednesday Dover-Calais. Got everything crossed we'll be on the ferry.

If your car is eating belts it could be a worn pulley etc. might be worth taking a couple of spare belts just in case.......

Sound advice! I've ordered a couple from Scott. Nick had it filled with water this morning and no leaks from the hoses so looks good. Getting hoses anyway to keep in the car with the spare belt as a precaution. With any luck I'll be on the road tomorrow avo after all.
