I'm not taking mine.... it never arrived after changing the plate..

Damn DVLA!!

I wouldn't worry too much, as long as you have license, insurance etc.

I don't want to piss on anyone's bonfire, but when we got stopped last year it almost seemed that it was the V5 they were looking for (might be wrong as they were babbling in French), everything I've read seems to suggest you really need to have V5, insurance and licence.

Apparently you can walk into any DVLA centre and get a temporary cert for £3. It's called a V3.

WHen I got stopped on the Le Mans Return run a few years ago a around 130.. the conversation went

Q)have you got your driving licence
A) Erm No
Q) Have you got your vehicle documents
A) Erm No
Q) have you got your passport
A) yes in here
switch to the entire boot of the chim emptied all over the hard shoulder as I look for it
Q) ( a slightly impatient)have you got 600ff
A) Oh yes ( producing the exact amount from back pocket)

I think I actually got off very lightly, as the the fine for that speed was a lot more but meant more documentation required and more paper work hehe
