If as looks likely it is a race of light rain / showers this year which cars do you think will benefit from this?

My guess is:
LMP1 = Audi #2
LMP2 = RML Lola #25
GT1 = Corvette Racing C6R #63
GT2 = IMSA Performance Porsche #76

I hope the Peugeot's put in a good show and give the Audi's a proper race. I suspect I may be a year or two premature though...

here's an uneducated hollistic view:

The rain and wet track will help with cooling and so aid the less reliable cars? maybe making it more competitive.

The low visibility and wet track causing more spins - again more competitive?

would be interesting to see how the weather has affected the race historically.

2001 was the last wet race and boy was it wet! Although it was actually sunny and dry on the pit straight for the 4 p.m. start it was pissing down at Indy / Arnage corners when they cars got there, you can imagine the carnage of 48 adrenelin filled racers all on slicks arriving at a tricky corner in the rain!

A lot of the open LMP1 / 2 cars suffered electrical problems, 4 of the GT1 cars didn't survive the carnage of the first lap out of 48 starters only 20 finished, compared with a usual total of about 26-30 cars. the race distance was also lower by about 500 miles compared with other years.

The best / worst race would be one where you have a lot of showers and teams would be forever changing tyres as this causes other problems for example starter motor problems etc.

The audis were saying that last year they struggled a lot with traction in the dry and the cars were very hard to drive in the wet. Especially since they have no traction control

Does anyone know if peugeot have traction control?
