My first Le mans this year, and I stayed up for the duration. It was amazing blagging into the pit grandstands at 5am and watching the driver changes, and then sneaking into the dunlop grandstand to watch the sun rise over the dunlop bridge.

Not so amazing trying to stay awake driving home at 3pm!!!

Anyone else manage the duration?

Everyone and there brother were getting into the Dunlop grandstand. It was a joke. What did you do to get into the pit grandstand?

Wasn't impressed with the lapse on security on the grandstand we were in.

This was only in the small hours, was it like that even when it was busy?

I just showed them my pass for the Maison Blanche grandstand and just said look, obviously I can't afford to pay for a ticket in every grandstand, I had all my camera gear and tripod etc. and as there are literally a handful of people and thousands of seats, could I just get access for a short while to take some photos. All in very bad french! The trick was to find the female attendees and they take pity on your attempts to speak their language smile

I had a grand stand pass above the pits but never actually made it there... bit of a waste of cash really... should have given it to first pretty blonde i came across (teeheehee!)...

Having danced myself silly to the Levellers, I retired to the Houx Annexe for a spot of beer-monstering

I blagged my way into the grandstand 10pm and was even given a ticket by the security (who I tried to avoid on the way out) so I could go back in on Sunday hehe!

I slept for about 5 mins during the race, not insured on my dads astra so i could sleep on the way home.

Was in Tribune 16, security went out at around 1am then tightened up at 6am. Less people mean that thye can be more lenient.
