Behaviour at lemans
Discussion
The amount of human scum only there for 5 days of drinking was horrendous. Its the first time our group have been back since 2003 after many years of regular attendance, and we were all pretty suprised and dissapointed by the changes. The reason we stopped going every year was the sub-human football thug element, it's only got worse.
We didn't go near the arnarge roudabout for that very reason and although the weather kept alot of water pistol-iers at bay some cretin in arnarge with an IQ of less than 40 still squirted water through my open widow and soaked me. If you want to soak people , soak your cretinous low life pond scum friends you F&*$wit, not total strangers. Your genuinely lucky the gendarme got to your before i was out of the car.
Frankly the gendarmes let these half-wit morons off lightly considering what they get up to.
On the campsite (Beusejour) there were guys sitting in their cars at night (nice cars, evos and a P1s) stationary and revving them while they bounced of the rev limiter constantly, YOU ARE NOT car enthusiasts, just mindless chav scum in le mans for the beer. Fortunatley the P1 owner broke his engine after doing this and drag racing down the main strip. Good. I hope it costs you a fortune you low IQ cretin.
I really got the feeling that the local French are becoming tired of the english scum, Ive never heard so many English speaking at the french in english and expecting to understand then ever before. Learn at last some basic phrases you morons, YOU are the people giving the english a bad reputation.
After this rant, I should point out that our group of le mans goers are all in our early 30's, so not doddery old farts looking for a nice quiet early night. The behaviour of my countrymen abroad sadley never ceases to amaze me, and at le mans this year, they lived up to their reputation. Go back to the football terraces, and please, please consider suicide on the way.

To be fair, bar the roundabout sketch we found the atmosphere great. No worries about too much noise, no problems with locals or campers and our site which was right next to a water stand pipe and 'road' through Karting Nord was left totally alone.
I do know where you are coming from though and I was really worried about vandalism and theft but it seemed we were lucky.
Fingers crossed the ACO will do something but to be honest from their perspective ticket sales aren't slumping so why would they? It would be great to see uniformed security on patrol during the night and even the daytime around the campsites and elsewhere.
We had a good few beers and then some, and that is a big part of the fun out there but believe me, we have petrol in our veins and first and foremost go there for the biggest petrolfest on the calender. I don't think that the average chavvy scum would spend so much time, effort and money getting there just for a piss up when Ibiza is cheaper and has more comfy places to sleep than a leaky tent in a field.
As I said, the only thing I really didn't like was at Houx Annexe, other than that it was a ball
(Oh, and don't forget the ' ' in Le Mans!)

Beusejour? Ah yes. The one where some utter t
t filled the soap dispensers with piss. Nice..
Overall I enjoyed the weekend but so often I would cringe at what some people where doing, the majority were British.
What really pisses me off is that I cant see how it can improve? Any hard line from the organisers would probably spoil it for everyone...

I was on the slow train, back from the grandstand to the Porsche gb camp site .My little boy and I plus some other people got soaked by some t
ts driving pass in the other way .
Why do it ?. Would they like it done to them someone is going to get hurt one day for sure .
All it does is drive people away from coming to Le mans.

A bit strong don't you think??calling people scum and morons for talking in their mother language.
well i suppose i should apologise to you for not learning enough French before i travelled out but have been to foreign countries before without learning their language also, so does that make me a moron or scum? I THINK NOT!
But then i remember parlez vous englaise, qui, non and merci from my school days which seem to get me somewhere.
Glyn.
If I go to a country thats native tounge isnt English I at least learn a few basic phrases in an attempt to help get about. Simply walking up to the French or indeed any nationality when in their country and simply talking at them in your own language is rude if nothing else.
It doesnt take an IQ worthy of mensa to memorise a few useful phrases does it.

Well good on you for learning some basic phrases when you travel abroad but you don't even use the correct spellings/punctuation for you own language (i don't usually pickup on people about that but as you're slating off others on a language basis i feel it has some resemblence)It doesnt take an IQ worthy of mensa to memorise a few useful phrases does it.

slightly o/t but my parents have been travelling abroad for a good number of years to lots of different countries and i can tell you that neither of them can speak any language other than English but i would NEVER say that either of them are rude.

I agree in part to this post, there did seem to be more of a "chav " element this year but where we were on Houx the atmosphere was brilliant with the majority just enjoying the racing and meeting mates. We love LM and we will definately be back. As always the locals were wonderful despite my appalling schooldays french!
Was listening to the Radio on Sunday morning - around 3.30am. One of the presenters in the pits reported that he had just been narrowly missed by a glass thrown from the balcony over the pits and that there was now glass all over the floor. When he looked up there were a group of lads above him bawling and giving him a thumbs up. A penny to a pound they'd be British. Fair enough, have a laugh, get drunk, no one has a problem with that. However, the small minority who behave in this manner, will be the cause behind petty rules being imposed by the French that will kill the atmosphere. They should be banned for life from Le Mans. Tossers.

I have tried to speak to French people in my very limited French vocabluary. some pretent not to understand as you are not taking proper french with the correct accent. I hear even sothern and northern French have a problem with this ie pretenting not to understand even their mother tounge because of the accent. Most contries will appreciate it if you try to learn even a bit of their language. I actually learnt a bit of arabic when I traveled when I was younger and they really appreciated the effort but the french dont.
I dont care about my speling or vocab as I have driven 400miles and am now
heavily
Edit : I was very polite to the French people I spoke to and they responded in kind.

I actually thought that the behaviour in and around Maison Blanche was actually very good considering how drunk many people were. Nothing seems to spring to mind regarding poor behaviour, drunk or not.
On the comment on speaking French, I have a very poor grasp of foreign languages and always have done. Indeed, I would have failed GCSE French had my teacher not done my coursework for me and I really did try! Does this make me scum? I actually think I conducted myself in a decent manner as did many others.
The French checkout girl understood me very well as I was using my hands to talk and get my point across...from the smiles she gave me, I don't think she considered me as scum. If she did she was bloody good at hiding it.

Houx was ok except for the tossers in the Black Monaro and the red 911, camped behind the cafe. Mates of mine left lastnight as they didn't fancy being run over in their tents, whilst sleeping.
It's a shame, but I was glad to see that the 911 was wrecked this morning, so they must have had a really great night.
I've been going since 89 and gave up on it in 2005 as the yobs were taking over. I got the bug early this year and took the plunge. I did enjoy it, but the constant threat of getting caught up in a crowd that doesn't understand that you may not actually want to peel out your tyres or wreck a diff for there enjoyment.
Don't get me wrong, I do drift days and a lot of trackdays in a rear wheel drive car. But I really don't need some pissed up Brit telling me that to pass I must spin the wheels and then slur at me how to do it.
Rant over.
Apart from the above. It was a Classic Le Mans!!!!

We were in Beausejour near those t*ss*rs with the Evos. Blatting up and down the main track like that was just stupid. The soundoff thing between the cars, whilst a little sad, didn't harm or endanger anyone, but it was enough to draw a crowd and encourage them into behaving like pr*cks.
I think it's safe to assume they'd been drinking before doing it as well, plus with the amount of other half-cut people wandering around, it just made it even worse.
Such a shame as everyone else around us was really decent (Thanks very much to those who bump-started my car on Sunday morning if any of you are reading...).
Funniest thing was, before thos numpties left on Sunday evening they were shouting 'pikies' at some people nearby, and when they left, it looked like the scabbiest did-site you've ever seen!
Went to Beausejour on the first year it opened and returned there this year as we like the atmosphere (plus we signed up for speedchills). Might have to think again next year...
