were there a lot more aggresive, grumpy, or just plain low life people there?

Until this weekend I'd never seen any sort of fighting, aggresive or really offensive and disrespectfull behaviour at Le Mans. But this time out of our group we saw a bloke in Volvo 4x4 cop a punch in the face for behaving like a knob on the campsite and splattering peoples cars (fair one I suppose but most years a quick word would have done the job without going straight to punching stations) and then oddly enough another Volvo got pissed off in the queue for the camp site did a 27 point turn then gave it big spuds aways throwing gravel up a golf, the no shirted pigeon chested golf inhabitants got out waved their arms about before repeating the offence the volvo driver had commited by spraying the rest of the cars in the line and taking off in hot pursuit.............cock heads.....

Anyway apart form those specifics it just seemed that the whole atmosphere had taken one step nearer to being a football match, and one step further away from the carnaval it used to be where high spirits and silly behaviour were expected but the line was drawn that showed respect to other peoples property and punch ups simply didn't happen. Shame really and I'm even considering not going next year and doing another 24Hr event instead frown

This was my first year, and I must admit, it wasn't the party/carnival atmosphere everyone had spoke of...

I did enjoy myslef however, but Im not as 'up' for next year as I thought I would have been...

Our little group have mentioned about going to Spa 24 hours next year...

All in all... the atmosphere did seem a bit uncarnival like...

That wasn't on the pit wall after the race finished was it? Saw someone get a face full by a couple of to55ers as he was, seemingly, minding his own business walking away from the podium area.
Just uncalled for...why do these morons exist?

The weather played a big part, but I think it's almost got too popular now, there seemed to be about twice the number of people there this year and there seemed to be a lot more non car enthusiasts there (more brits abroad types too).

I think I might give the classic a go next year, but don't tell anyone!

Last year we camped by the main entrance to Houx Annex next to a group of pretty nasty meat heads who were pretty aggressive, who proceeded to play football and kicking the ball at cars as they passed by and as they were parked. we figured they were on some stag doo or somthing as they were clearly not interested in cars or the racing

After we arrived at our pitch tent this year at pretty much the same pitch as last year who should arrive.......the same group of wrs as last year, thankfully the damp weather calmed them down a bit but it didnt stop one of them diving off the roof of a transit van into a padling pool!!!!! The others proceeded to roll around in the mud for hours at a time.

Seemed to be an awful lot of tracksuit wearing chavs this year, who seemed to use the weekend as an extended friday night binge and puke session.

Must say Sunday night was the best atmosphere by far; good friendly camp atmosphere, laughing and having fun whilst slowly sipping a beer or two

We had private toilets for the Corvette parking area and someone still managed to honk all over one of them and left it like that rather than clean it up so we know it was one of the Corvette owners that did it rage

As opposed to the bloke who was in bed at 9.30 on saturday night...... hehe

I agree with your original post Mel. We all talked about it and the consensus was one more year. If it doesn't improve then Spa 24hours and Nurburg 24 hours were mentioned. The old bill were terrible this year and not for no reason IMO.

By the way please stop blaming football. That stuff stopped about 10 years back. This is a chav culture problem its got f*** all to do with football.

I think the weather dampened things a lot. After 5 years of sun it was certainly a different experience however most of the White Rabbit Racing crew seemed to crack on and enjoy it regardless. I think the rain divided us up into sheltered groups and made it more difficult for the WRR teams to mingle as much as they might have liked. Also a good number of the crew probably stayed away in the Village a bit more than normal.

But I seemed to miss this bad behaviour that is being talked about. I did burn up the Houx roundabout not long after the Gendarmes left but must have left before it got out of hand - although I heard a lot of stories. But in all I had a thoroughly enjoyable Le Mans as always!
