Best viewing grandstand for action?

We had tickets for start finish grandstand, and although the start and finish were amazing where is the best grandstand for viewing action ???

I like being above the pits, you get a view you cant get without being in there, whereas you can see almost everything else without a grandstand seat.

I think the one between the dunlop bridge and tetre rouge is good as well.

Didnt bother this year really, but probably will next year.

Im a big fan of the Dunlop Grandstand. A great long range view of the pit exit, the chicane itself and the run under Dunlop bridge. Theres also a big video screen directly opposite.
Loads of action there in both the classic and main races. The cars are slow enough to get some good pictures as well.

We ducked behind a bit of fencing at the bottom end of the village, oddly enough it brought us out where all the groundworks are going on at the exit end of the pit lane under the large screen, this was about half two and by 2.45 about 50 people had followed, we had a lovely seat on the grass bank, loads of room and perfect view, however ................. Then the french Securitee turned up mob handed, about half a dozen of them cleared every one off from down by the fence and worked up the bank by the time they got to us they were smiling and happy and seemed content that they'd blagged themselves a good view of the start, the head honcho then smiled and said "2 laps with a wink" we got the message watched our 2 laps then everyone all merrily went back to where they should have been.

The whole thing to me summed up the difference between english and french attitudes, if that had been english security they'd have caused more trouble than they solved and kicked of a mini riot with everyone arguing and trying to stay there, the french had a job to do but realised that everyone only wanted to watch the start, by taking 10 minutes longer to do their job everyone was happy and went on their way with smiles, couldn't fault the security guys for the way they dealt with it and we had amongst the best seats in the house for free.

We were in Maison Blanche and saw some great action including a few spins and some contact, you also get the excitement of groups peeling off to the pits under the safety car, and a great buzz when the rolling start comes through for the beginning of the race.

Thats a great place to watch, sneaked in for Thursday night qualifying. You can see a lot of track from the top row.

It's always been Maison Blanche for me: exit from the straight after the Porsche Curves, then the double Ford Chicane, and a view all the way up the pits straight, plus cars entering the pits. Also, easy to get to the Porsche Curves, The Village etc.
