Few Le Mans questions (first time going there)

Sorry if these have been asked before,but looking at going in 08 for the first time, as from everything ive read on here its really is quite a laugh, espically after reading the lemanbulance thread
I realise im proberly too late to start looking at camping places allready, from what ive read on here, but will have a go
Wheres the best place to camp, want to be as close as possible to the action really, and the roundabout's etc
anyone offer a guide of wheres best to go, and who to book through ? looking at getting there for mad friday, and going home monday
any help would be brillaint

Mate, its not too late. I've not booked yet and I did the same last year and all was well. Last year was my first and we went down on the Tuesday and again thats definately what i'm going to do this year too. I would reccomend getting there by Thurs if you can at all if not earlier, its well worth it!

Convoys are usually precisely that. A convoy. Just getting together and doing the trip in a group is a lot of fun. I however would not advocate any hooliganism or speeding on the way down as the froggies bring in plod from all over to man the speedguns. Speeding is like roulette in Le Mans week.
We are planning to arrange a ferry deal for everyone that comes with WRR&PH. A dover/calais crossing on Weds/Thurs/Friday mornings therein trying to get massive convoy groups together

Yup - so don't take the Autoroute from Calais to Le mans, take the back roads and they are deserted (as all the plod are on the Autoroute) ^_^. Actually just remembered I saw a police speed trap on my route to the cost this year - just the one, for the first time in 5 years, and stopping locals for speeding through the village.Gassing Station | Le Mans | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
