Hi all wavey

I'm looking for somewhere to stay not too far from Calais to break journey to the track. Every larger town I search around seems to have an Ibis. Has anyone used them and are they any good?

Cheers, Longers

I've just booked the tunnel for the hoon to Paris this weekend and stopping at a place 5 mins from the tunnel station. Have a look on the Eurotunnel website and search for Calais hotels. It's a 'golf' hotel and is a measly 37e for a triple room. Sea views and buffet breakfast, superb.

As for Ibis, it's hotel much like any other in France. You get a bed, a continental breakfast and not much else.

I stayed in a very nice Median Paris Concress hotel last weekend for the Semi final and they didn't give us breakfast, but for the 145euro per night, they did throw in windows that didn't open, aircon that didn't work, a bathroom you wouldn't let your dog crap in and a calpsing bed. Oh and a little picture of a nob scribbled in pencil on the wall next to where the missus tried to sleep. How she laughed!!!

Never had any probs with an Ibis, cheap and cheerful, clean and basic.

Campanile are similar, the food in the Campaniles I've used has always been really good.
