I'm sure a real expert will be along in a minute, but in the meantime...
You can get race entry tickets and probably camping at Beausejour on the day, anything else would need to be booked in advance now I think.
I got all I needed on eBay about 10 days before going last year, no sweat. Planning has started earlier this year as I want better ferry times.

General entry will not be a problem on the day, even some grandstands are available from the box office, but you may run the risk of having seats seperate if in a group.
Camping is not so easy. Le Houx on the day is out of the question and in the past you could rely on at least a spot on Beausejour. However in 2008 with the absense of the annexe, Beau is likely to be full before the race weekend also. So my advise is do not risk it. Buy at least your camping now.
If you buy Houx now, then if you find you cannot make it, then you will be able to sell either on Fleabay or the clasified on PH.
