SpeedChills ? any recommendations

We are planning our 2008 trip earlier than usual and rather naively thought we could get camping passes direct from the ACO. After faxing of application and follow up call I was informed that our usual home in Karting Nord will be sold out already and we are likely to be allocated in to Bleu Sud or Beausejour.

Having searched around the Agencies and SpeedChills seems to be quite a good deal, has anyone else on here used them? if so comments/feedback would be greatly appreciated.

My mates have used them 4 times I think. I have been in on 2 of these trips. Having the ability to rock up at their little compound/tent/building and grap a cup of tea/breakfast/dinner is very usefull. Not having to cook for yourself, and another set of toilets are worth something. That and being able to get beer and cider while watching the race on Motor TV was good this year while it pissed down. We have over time felt that possibly they are not worth as much as it costs you, and it started to feel like a bit of a treck to get to the village/circuit entrance when there are closer campsites.

It's swings and roundabouts. Spend a bit more for teh convenience of having stuff done for you, or save your cash and fly solo.

I would say they are worth using certainly on a 1st visit. After year 1 or possibly 2 you might want to branch out and try fending for yourself.

Used them for the LMES at Donington last year. Top class! Hot food, dry barn, nice beer and we met the Creation team.

Would definitely recommend.

we used them for our first trip this year buying ticket,grandstand and entrance, camping tickets and used their catering farmhouse. Without it we would have been cold, wet and hungry. Great staff who were very enthusiastic and able to give good advice to all. Food was very good, beer ok although wine ran out saturday. Definately recommend them, especially as a previous poster comented if its a first trip.

Very easy, no hassles booking.

But as a previous poster mentioned the trek to and from the campsite to the track is a negative. You are only a couple of minutes from the Porsche Curves though.. .

Dont forget the mini bus/train from just under the porsche curves, by the entrance to the curves viewing area, to other parts of the circuit! Its only 5 min walk, or 10 min stagger from the Speedchills area!

Exactly c8/c9. Beausejour may be a little bit of a walk but in reality, you'll only do it once a day and i enjoy seeing all the cars cruising up and down when I am on the march. And there is the shuttle as you say!

May have crossed paths last year Guy, I came through your patch and your nice people let a few of us through to the trackside area behind your pitch! Nice little area, but too often patrolled by the gendarme! Looking forward to 2008 and hopefully no bloody rain! Good luck to you guys at WRR!

Yeah. They really ramped up security in 2007. i used to spend hours in the trees back there with a cool box and my easy chair. Could barely stay 5 mins this time without getting chased off. Nighttime was better but still did a lot of hiding in bushes as the security searched about with torches!

Used them a few times, they get better each year, but they are not the cheapest in terms of food and booze, all depends on how lazy you want to be.
