ACO MEMBERSHIP IS IT WORTH ANYTHING

have been an aco member for several years my son and I joined but for the last 2 years despite requesting aco stand and houx campsite the
ACO membership organization never answer my allocation enquiry ACO stand tickets or for houx campsite permit.
But they always seem to be able to send you the annual membership form demanding your money last we couldn't get anything at all so I'm going to bycott 2008 and keep my money in my pocket.

The ACO membership never provides a better chance of being allocated the campsite you want (chances seem to be based on how long standing a customer you are more than anything). In the first instance I think you have to view it as a financial thing. If you are going to use the full quota of discounted tickets it entitles you to then it is worth it as you will actually save money. On top of that it gives access to the ACO members area which has been ok over the last couple of years but should be improved for 2008. I think there are also other benefits like breakdown cover??? Never looked into those.

I've been an ACO member for many years too. It doesn't give you any priority for tickets, although the lottery of what you receive somehow adds to the charm of the event. If you are buying tickets for 5 or 6, the discounts pay for the membership.

The package of literature you receive is a nice reminder of the event (programme, results, list of runners and riders, plus a poster and sticker).

I've even made use of their breakdown service, with the 'Club 24' membership you get a single tow to a nearby garage.
