Boulogne booze where ??

For the past 4 years we have gone to Le Mans via Calais with Seafrog, sorry, Seafrance. In 2008, we will be going on the Speedferries service because it is so much cheaper for 4 cars and a van. The question is, can anyone please recommend a place where we can get our wine and beer from in Boulogne without going too far off the route. We like wine in boxes straight from the barrel. Any suggestions please - thanks !

There is a big Auchen on the Eastern side of Boulogne, just the other side of the A16, in Boulogne St Martin. Its about 10 mins from the ferry port, opposite to the F1 hotel

All the usual fare, and its French, rather than the sham of City Europe

Yes,as Karussell says, the Auchon is east of Boulogne. Take the main A16 from Calais, then after maybe 10 miles take junction 31 and exit left signposted St. Omer. Then follow the signs to the Commercial Centre and you're done. I think that junction 31 is also signposted right for Boulogne Centre Ville and is the second exit for Boulogne. R.

We will be buying on the way there and on the way back. 10 of us going for 5 days !

we are driving back on Monday morning after the fiasco this year, stopping for booze on the way there and on the way back. Nice.

If you're short of time there's a LeClerc on the way to the ferry from jc29. Nowhere near as big as Auchan, but will save time.

Supra, As you are buying other than on the Sunday, the Auchon at Boulogne will be open at normal times. Maybe I'll see you there on the Monday afternoon when I'll be stocking up for the home run !
